Boy Boy first day in Kindergarten

Boy Boy finally go to kindergarten. He joined at 5yo so he only studies 2 years.

First day of school, no cries, no scares, no shouts. Just a curious face looking around at his 'classmates' who were crying and shouting aloud for mommy. One boy was sobbing on his chair, one didn't allow his mom to leave..... all adults were crowding outside of the classrooms. Not only the little boys and girls, but also the adults were so excited (including me of course... haha!).

For him, he's considered 'stable' and calm. As a super-active boy like him, he actually can't sit still in a space for more than 30 mins, but glad that he could settle himself in the class for 2 hours (lesser hours for 'orientation' day, normal school time is 3 hours).

It's a good start and I wish he can enjoy his schooling time in the future.

Another scary night

It's about the same time in the year, almost every year the little boy is attacked by high fever.

He was normal during daytime, but when it comes to night, his body temperature is increasing, it was once up to 40ºC. And the worst happened: he was in a fever fit (info from Wiki).

His body became stiff and the arms and legs started twitching. His eyes opened but no focus, it's like losing conscious. I was terrified when seeing this, dad was holding his body, mum kept rubbing his body with wet towel to cool down his temperature. I asked mum to keep talking to him and get his response. I'm really scared that the heat had damaged his brain.

He was brought to the hospital once in the morning actually, but the paed said it's not a big matter, no need to admit to hospital, just monitor at night and if he's in high fever again just use a wet towel rubbing his body to cool him down. Finally the fits stopped, but his body temperature was still 38ºC. Anyhow, since he has calm down and they decided to bring him back to the hospital for further checking.

Next day evening, we went back to UM Hospital. It's totally not happy to tell but the fact is, this is the place we almost visit every year until we are familiar with it. We know how to walk from the ward to cafe, and car park, although it's usually a few blocks away.

The little boy was staying in the hospital for overnight under observation. There is a new block for children's ward, and we almost got ourselves lost in the building. As usual, mum and sis were staying overnight with boy-boy together, and we were busy packing from the house and back to hospital again. Until I finally back home it's almost 3am.

He's back home now, stable and normal. His body temperature never increased when he was in the ward. Doctor said according to their record, boy-boy never had fits in the hospital. OK, so does he mean that it's my house problem?

Anyhow, I'm glad that the whole family can have a good night sleep finally. My mum's thumb was hurt as he bit it when my mum tried to feed him medicine at the night when he was having fits. Until now I can still remember the scary moments. I understands so I don't mind if he pushed me away at home and shouted "don't want yi-yi~!" (actually I never really get bothered, :P he's like a king in my house). He can still shout and scream, that means he's ok. I was relieved when I saw his smiling face and laughters. It is really terrifying to imagine that you may lose his lovely smile.

Thank god he's alright, and thanks for everyone who has taken care of him~!!

The "boss" in my house

The "boss" in my house is only 3 years old (going to be 4 soon).
He has the "power" to order the whole family members to do whatever he wants us to do.
And he's "in charge" of some of the housework like open the door, off the light, seats arrangement, etc all under his order.
Whatever taken away has to be placed or returned back to its original place -- except his toys or those he throws.
He is the "teacher" in my house too, but what he does is just pointing at the picture and asking you to say in words.
Each of us have our direction to go when we go out, except when we are going out together.
He will watch my mum when she is cooking or preparing breakfast (if he wakes up before that), sometimes (actually most of the time) he will give a hand...

There are too many funny and interesting moments you can find from our 'boss', if he's not naughty, actually I'm really enjoying my times with him.

Please get well~~

It's 4am in the morning. My parents are still staying aside with my nephew, keeping him cold by rubbing his body with wet clothes.

After getting back from the hospital, his condition doesn't seem improve. He has taken the fever medicine, but his body temperature is still remains at around 38C. And just a few minutes ago, he had another fit again, this time I witnessed the thing happened. It was so scary to see his body is trembling on the bed, and you felt helpless because nothing you can do. Dad and Mum are still trying to cold down his body, the fit just last for a few seconds this time, but still it scared us up.

I gave sis a call, we wonder if we could at least persuade the hospital to let him stays in the hospital for one night for observation. Now everyone cannot really rest because of too worry about him. Mum is on call with sis again, maybe after sunrise, we will bring him back to the hospital if his condition is still not getting well.

Please, get well! And Xuan Xuan, you also need to 加油!

Wish for health

Just back from the hospital. My nephew had entered the hospital again, high fever, fit, vomit. Luckily the paed said he doesn't need to admit to hospital, just gave him some medicine and we can take care of him at home.

This morning, received a SMS from my best friend, my 契女 had admitted to hospital again because of blue-ish on her body. The doctor is still checking for the problem. I'm still worrying about them since I received the message. They have been gone through so many hard times, and now they have to face it again.

Anyhow, for both Boy Boy and Girl Girl, since it's Christmas Eve today, I would like to make a wish for their recovery and health forever. Also, wish for health to everybody I love and who loves me.

Boy discharged from hospital

Finally, the boy has been discharged from hospital. And after 2 sleepless nights, my parents and my sis had been too tired and fell down to sleep early at night. Luckily the little one also quite tired, my dad just pad him for a while then he fell asleep.

It's almost once per year for him to be hospitalized since he was born. He is a prematured, he was born in hospital for sure, but then he had to be kept in an incubator, so he has been staying in the hospital for almost 3 weeks. Before his 2-year-old birthday, he was admitted to hospital again due to high fever until after his birthday. Now, he is at 3, and in the hospital again.

I'm not trying to say something infelicitous, it's just really everybody had been freaked out whenever he fell sick. Especially my mum and sis, boy boy was passed out after a fit when my sis was holding him, can imagine my sis was panicked that time.

I really really wish for his health and happiness in the future, and don't let us worry about him again. Bless on him~~

p/s: My sis told me one funny thing: when they are about to leave the hospital, one of the nurse asked her where is Kenny (my nephew) and my sis told her they are discharged today, then the nurse told my sis: Dia memang macam penjaga wad. (in Malay, means, he's really like a ward guard) Haha! He's the only kid that was running around the ward and drew everybody's attention. Really can make him famous already.

Another night in the hospital

Today, Boy Boy will need to do a urine test, so doctor said he still cannot be discharged, have to stay another night. After work, I straightaway went home, and went to the hospital with my dad again.

He's feeling better today, no more emotions. But then, he become energetic again. Running around the ward (with the needle attached on his left hand), approaching other child patients. As you know, those who stay here are all sick, he's the only one who can run around. That could make him 'famous' already. He played with balloon, go and 'check' on the beds, very very 'busy'.

My parents have already been exhausted for taking care of him and travelling around on these days. So I have to chase after the little fella around the wards. Since he's recovered, he became very very active. It's really tired I tell you..... >.<"

This guy carried the food. The patients here had 3 meals per day, but of course, they are for the guardians. My sis is the one who took the meals.

The trolley has a Tom and Jerry picture on it, it's his favourite. My sis said he's following the trolley just because of this.

Back to hospital again...

It all started with a flu and fever (not really high). My brother-in-law decided to bring him back to hospital just to check on his runny nose. But just when they reached the hospital, my nephew has fallen into a fit (A sudden attack of convulsions and/or loss of consciousness, typical of epilepsy and some other medical conditions), and it really made my sis went panic!

He was sent to the emergency room at first, a room where only one family member per time is allowed, we need to take turns to go and see him. We were there seeing the poor little one wearing an oxygen mask, haven't regained consciousness yet.

But then after a moment, they moved him to a normal ward, but have to be hospitalized for observation. It's hard when we saw the needle was injected into his little left hand again, and he was crying for pain.

By the way, we were supposed to watch the movie "Legend of the Fist" today, we have already sat on the chairs, the show was just about to start, then my mum got a call from my sis that my nephew had lost conscious. When the screen was showing something, we stood up and walked out from the cinema. This is definitely the first time ever we had such experience. Wasting 4 movie tickets doesn't matter, the most important thing is our precious baby boy's health now.

Wish that he will recover very soon.

Photo taken outside of the paed emergency room.

He was still reading ABC while having a drip.

Eating bread, still in good mood. But later when the doctor came and checked on his body temperature again, he's crying aloud again.

Happy 3 years old

The first day of August has marked the 3rd birthday for my little nephew, whom we call him "Boy Boy". No doubt he's still very naughty, but he's still our angels.

Some of my friends don't like kids at all, they think kids are very noisy, disturbing and troublesome. But for me, every kids or babies are angels, they will become 'little devils' are because of the adults, we made them this way. They didn't choose to be like that. I can't say I've trained him very well, but still I have to admit that we are not good educators to kids.

Here are some developments for him at his age of 3:
~ He doesn't eat much rice, porridge and vegetables are NO NO. That's why he still drinks milk everyday, 3~4 times per day.
~ Still, he's not good in speaking. But he can recognize and speak out 18 alphabets, others he also can recognize but cannot pronounce. For numbers, he only can say 2, 5 and 8.
~ He can call my mum "Ah Bo", me as "Yi Yi" or "Ah Yi", his father as "Ah Ba", his mum/my sis as "Ah Ma". Others, he can't pronounce. So my father and brother are also his "Ah Ba", sometimes he'll said "Ah Bak" (old uncle) too.
~ Other objects he can speak: ji (chicken), yu (fish), bear, ooou (dog), yiaoooo (cat), Ma (horse), Bo (carrot), bag, etc. "Bear" is also one of the children song DVD that he likes to watch.
~ Since he can't speak our language, he came out with his own. Such as "Up" = eat, "Ah Bu" = lizard, B = Ribena, etc.
~ He will choose his favourite clothes to wear.
- He likes to copy what we are doing, e.g. how to unlock the padlock, how to apply lotion, how to talk on the mobile, using the remote control (of course he cannot pick the right channel or press on the correct button), etc. So whatever we don't want him to copy, we won't do it in front of him.
~ His favourite food: banana, langsat, dragon fruit, wantan mee, dark soy source chicken, etc.
~ His favourite drink: Vitagen, Ribena.
~ His favourite place: Jusco, especially Equine Jusco.
~ etc...

This is his birthday present, from my mum and I.

Happy Birthday, Boy Boy!
Wishing for your health and happiness always!

Happy Birthday Baby

Our little angel

It's been quite a while I didn't update anything about the little one staying in my house.

He's still naughty, he's still hyper-active, he's still throwing things, he's still having a bad temper, yet, he's still very cute and adorable, and we are still loving him so much.

His speaking skill is still not improving much, although we are teaching him everyday. But at least he is learning little by little and almost finish pronouncing the 26 letters.

This little one is good at calling his grandma and aunt (me~~ ^O^Y) also, the whole day are buzzing you with "ah boh!" and "yi yi!" but the good thing is, he's learning his words and he cares about us. Our challenge now is, how to make him more behaves... (headache...)

Iron burns on his palm

It was all of a sudden, he accidentally put her hand on the hot iron when my dad was ironing his clothes. Luckily just a slight touch, a minor burn on his palm. The most careless thing is, we didn't realize he was burnt until we heard he cried aloud.

This is his hand after we applied some cream on his hand. We didn't really see if there is any inflammation, just quickly rinsed his hand with pipe water and applied cream on it. We felt so bad when he cried with pain...

Doodling

He's not good in learning to speak, but he has been picking up a pen in a correct way before 2 years-old. And since then, he likes to doodle anytime, anywhere. Sometimes he will doodle with a sound "Ah... Ah... Ah...", and sometimes (actually most of the time) he wants us to write ABC for him. I think I've never been writing so many ABCs before during my schooltime... Gosh, This is crazy!

Here got all his 'artworks'... the door:

His Lunar Birthday - 2 yrs old

As we have missed his 2nd birthday on 1st Aug, we were then celebrating his Lunar birthday yesterday. Actually not a really big celebration, just my mum cooked some different food, and bought a birthday cake for him. The cake is for the adults' favour, so I chose black forest... haha!

I'm not sure if it's really not a cake for kids or what, my nephew really doesn't like to eat cake. Even if we put it into his mouth, he spat it out.

Since he has just recovered from a big fever, we were making a birthday wish for him, wishing for his health and happiness throughout his life.

Baby is home

Our little baby, finally come home. Healthily. Recovered.

I just found that, one of my friend's baby son, also had a fever on the same day, and caused by throat infection. Recently there are many viruses around, and the H1N1 still causing a great panic around the world by increasing the dead cases, including Malaysia. Nowadays going out also not safe.

My brother-in-law told us, according to the doctor, they still keep the baby's blood in observation. Probably need to wait until some bacterias or viruses 'grow', then only they can do further testing and checking, to see if there is any other 'problem' inside. It's just a in-depth checking, hopefully they won't find anything there.

It might be so bad that he had to spend his birthday in hospital, but what else is more important than his health and happiness? Birthday celebration, it doesn't matter anymore.

Welcome Back, Boy!

Little boy boy @ hospital

My nephew has been admitted to hospital since last Friday, because of his high fever. That means, he spent his second birthday in the hospital too. What a pity!

The blood test report was out, it shows nothing really bad about him. So according to tentative diagnosis, they can only tell that it's because of his sore throat which caused the high fever. But they still need a few more days to do monitoring and more testing for confirmation.

Because of being sick, Boy Boy is quite lack of appetite. So they decided to give him a drip. But it is so cruel to see 2 needles stuck into his little hand. He cries everytime when the nurses come and change the packet, or inject some medicine from the needle. He is so terrified.

It's been 4th day, but our little boy still can't be discharged yet. He doesn't have high fever again today, but the doctor still wants to get more detailed checking before can confirmed he is fully recovered.

That means, my mum still need to stay overnight in the hospital with my sis. And I still need to wash clothes every night, and sleep late every night......

See his hand.... it's scary!

Happy Birthday, Boy Boy!

Today is Boy Boy’s birthday.

But he spent his very first moment of his birthday in the hospital.

He has been having a high fever since the night before yesterday, my parents and his parents brought him to the pediatrics. After giving him some medicines, the doc advised them to bring him to the hospital for detailed body check-up, to be more secure. So they were heading towards the UM hospital.

When he was in the hospital wad in the afternoon, around 2pm, his body was still in high temperature, until he got a cramp. It's sound scary to me. Then after that, it's getting better. He could eat, drink and play with them. But in around midnight, his temperature was going up again, even doc said it's normal, we are still scared.

Docs had done a blood test with him, but neither mum nor sis mentioned about the report, which it was supposed to be out in 3 hours. They were even told that the doc needed to take his marrow for testing as they had concern that it might be a meningitis. It sounds terrifying but luckily after I checked with my mum, they didn't do it.

Now is the very crtical moment for the little one, the doc has told them to keep his temperature low. My mum and sis are now staying overnight in the hospital, and taking care of him.

I'm so scared actually. We never encounter this before, we know he's a premie, but never be prepared to face this. We have been trying to hard to take extra care of him, hope that he can grow healthy and happily. Now, it has panicked us. We are scared. Really really scared.

For any God up there, please bless the little boy. I would prayed for his health, his recovery and we are still waiting to celebrate his second birthday at home.

Happy Birthday, Boy Boy! Please be strong! You will be recovered soon.

Writing?

Photobucket
He uses both left hand and right hand, but he maybe a left-hander...

1/2 more month, my little nephew will celebrate his 2nd birthday.

He's not really good in language development, but he's really good at imitating people. He'll observe what we do, and do the same by himself. So now he's pressing the remote control, unlock the door or padlock, wiping table, mopping the floor, etc. Of course he can't really do that, he just imitate our actions.

He saw us writing, he also wants to write, so he likes to grab our pen and doodle on the paper. He writes on anything besides paper, table, floor, newspaper, his baby books, our books, even the sofa~~ *faint*

Dad taught him how to hold a pen properly, so he learnt it quite well. Now you see, got style right? Just look like really writing! Haha! The way he holds the pen is better than I do. Well Done, BOY!

Ah.... Bu......

On my house ceiling, there is some creatures, whenever my little nephew saw it, he'll shout "Ah..... Bu......"

What is "Ah Bu" actually?

It's a lizard.

Why it's called "Ah Bu"?

Gotta ask the little one. But he cannot tell you either, because he still can't really speak.

He was attracted by the lizard at first sight, we taught him it's "bì hǔ" (Mandarin), but it end up like "Ah Bu"...

So now, "Ah Bu" is the 'name' of lizard in my house. My nephew, he got a 'pet'! haha

Tired Boy Boy... zzz

After coming back from the warehouse sales + Giant "shopping spree" yesterday, the little fella fell asleep very fast before we reached home at around 5pm.

And then, he was in a deep sleep. Really deep. Deep until nobody could wake him up even after 2~3 hours. He always alert when he's sleeping, just slightly loud sound can wake him up. Even if he has been asleep for a few hours, when we pad him or call him softly, he will open his little eyes. But this time, really very deep sleep.

He's still not awake even I carried him out from the 'sarong' and put him on the matress on the floor.

Then I found that he got very long nails on his hands and feet (cutting nails for him is a tough job), I took a nail cutter, and started to cut his finger nails and toenails. But even after I had cut all his nails, he's still in a deep sleep~!

Gosh, he's really tired this time.

My last day

Today marked the official last day for me as a working human.... I'm officially "jobless" 😆 I can't tell what this feelin...
