Shila Amzah: An amazing voice

There are lots of shares in my FB walls everyday, including this. I couldn't remember her name at the beginning, although I actually watched a bit of the "One in a Million" singing competition TV show 4 years ago.

Then, I saw her name as "Shila", familiar. And then she is with her tudung now, then it attracted me. When I clicked into the link and watched the video, I was really impressed.

I can't say I'm blown away as exaggerated as the judges. She doesn't shock the audience with her high pitch or tone, but the quality and purity of her voice. She did it steadily in a stable tone that is the thing that impressed me. Like some of the judges said, she doesn't understand the lyrics but she could still express the feeling of the songs.

Maybe the reaction from the judges were a bit over and too much in the show, but I do agree that, she has connection with the audience, and sing into our hearts. She is not there to show off her skills, but to deliver the message and emotion of the songs. And about the judges, I can recognize those from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and they are all famous singers in Asia so I don't doubt of their qualification of being the judges, btw I like some of their songs too.

However, due to the fact of her background, I really worry that she might not be able to go too much further. Exposure and performance like this has somehow against her religion. Anyhow, as a Malaysian, I'm proud for her to win the competition, to let the people in China, even Asian countries to learn that Malaysia has such a wonderful singer who can sing very well even in the language that she doesn't understand.

Great Job, Shila! And I wish to see you more in the future.
