First visit @ Tous les Jours: Disappointed

This is a famous "French-Asian" bakery n South Korea. Why I know this bakery? Because in South Korea, one of the owner is Eunhyuk (Lee Hyuk-Jae), member of Super Junior. And obviously as you might know, that's the reason why I was so long for this shop and extremely excited when I knew that it'd be opened in the middle of the golden triangle at Bukit Bintang area.

First step into the shop, I was impressed by the greeting "anyeong haseyo" from the staffs. And actually I like the smiles on their faces, and their friendliness when talking with the customers. It was a very different environment and atmosphere, I felt like going into another world from a busy city. The warm interior, nice decorations, nice bakeries, the aroma of the bread and coffee.... all so impressive ----- until how I really experienced their real service: the food and how it's served.

I took a bread and ordered an iced mocha from the counter, they gave me a number for the coffee. And then, I waited at my table for more than 20 minutes, the drink is not served!!! When I asked one of the staff (waiter?) around, THEY CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH!!!! OK, I'm not discriminating, but can you at least get somebody who can understand what I'm saying?? Don't tell me they are from Korea, I bet they don't understand Korean too!

So after waiting for another 10 minutes, I lost my patience and went to the counter, where somebody made the coffee behind. When I checked with one of them about my order, I was shocked that they just started making my drink!! And moreover, the staff asked me a few times about my order, when the guy asked me for the last time if it's hot or cold, I repeated don't know how many times and I almost shouted out: ICED MOCHA!! A few people looked at my side, but I don't care, I was so pissed at that moment, just let them know they have an angry customer here. After I grabbed my drink, I just turned myself straight to the door, ignored those who said sorry and thank you to me.

And the coffee... sorry you can say that I'm not a coffee lover or don't know how to appreciate real coffee. I just simply don't like the taste. As they charged me same price as Starbucks, I can say their service quality and the taste is far far behind.

I know I was a bit harsh to them and some of them they're just innocent, it's not their fault for can't speak English. But it's the owner who needs to take responsibility of their service and quality. First of all I don't mind they hire foreigner, but as the foreign workers can even speak Cantonese and Hakka in the traditional Chinese kopitiam, I don't see a reason why they can't even understand simple English. If I'm going to pay 10 times higher than that here, I would like to see some difference.

Actually I went there because of someone I like, but since they have no connection to each other, I won't really feel like want to come back here for the second time.

p/s: Anyhow, the bread I bought was quite ok, just it's too expensive, RM6.50 for that.

Dinner @ Zakuro

This is the last valid day for the voucher, and luckily I got my friend, San to go with me.
We were late for more than 1/2 hour, I thought we'll lose our booking, and then when I rushed and reached there.......... this was what we saw......... and I knew that we worried too much.... :P

The price, definitely not cheap actually, I came here because of the discount voucher from Groupon. Anyhow, the food is quite nice.

We were there as the one and only customer for more than 1/2 hour after we entered. And the staffs were watching 2 crazy girls busy taking pictures instead of eating. Don't blame us, it's the 'trend' nowadays.... hahaha! I felt quite weird also....

Thanks Little Panda (Sanさん) for coming here with me. Although it was quite a long journey but I really enjoyed our dinner today.

Dinner @ Bistro Cascata

This is my second visit here, an Italian restaurant in Cyberview Lodge Resort.

It actually happened when one of us wanted to have meal in Cyberjaya, preferably steak. Then we chose this place, but at the end, nobody ordered any steak. And ended up half of us were not really satisfied with the food (not me, coz I like my Aglio Olio so much, :P).

One of the most "unique" thing about this restaurant is the price. Not cheap for sure, and usually people will only come once in a long while or during any celebrating event. For us.... nothing really had anything to celebrate, so... just as a welcome dinner for Shiho-san? or just a nice treat after pay day (still less than 1 week~~)?

Anyhow, I did have a great time with them.

Angry Birds Cupcakes

I found this from the bazaar at Streetmall, Cyberjaya (map). It was sold by one Malay lady on her very little table. The bazaar is only available twice per week (which I forgot which day actually... :P) so you won't find it everyday.

The taste is just so so but I admire their creativity and sense of trends. Of course there are other bakeries are selling angry birds cake, cookies but still I like their idea and concept of it. Cup cakes are only one of the bakery products she sells, others like carrot cakes, kuih also available. But then, only this impressed me. hehe~~ wanna have a try?

山頭火(さんとうか)拉面

As it's highly recommended by my friend, a week after the opening of Tokyo Street, I went to this shop with my classmates. And I was a bit surprised that, I can actually get pork from here.

We tried their signature food, Shio Ramen, the taste is very nice. But I'm not sure whether it's original Hokkaido taste or not... it's not cheap definitely, but worth a try. The set I ordered is RM29, good thing is you don't need to go to Hokkaido to try this... :P

Korean BBQ @ Hwangsil Garden, Neo Damansara

This is the second time I visited a full Korean restaurant, the boss is a Korean who can speak Japanese and one of my Japanese friend is their regular customer.

I almost lost my way when driving there, actually I didn't have any idea where were I going, I just followed the instructions from my friend (she got the instructions from another Japanese friend, in Japanese...), and I ended up turned into a wrong junction. After coming back and searched from the web then only I know that the restaurant is located in somewhere called Neo Damansara, Damansara Perdana. Just very very close to The Curve.

Something interesting is, I went with 3 friends together: 2 of them are Japanese and one Malaysian who can speak Japanese, so I have to use my really 'lauya' Japanese and try my very best to understand their conversations. But it's a good time for me to learn and practice my Japanese, although for sure it doesn't enough.

About the food quality itself, I can give a rating as 8. Taste good, not so spicy and truly original from Korea. I don't know the name for each dishes, so just show the pictures. I prefer the kimchi, spicy taufu soup, and the BBQ meats.

View from outside.
The side dishes... yummy yummy~~

Dinner @ Chili's

I was having a dinner at 1U Chili's together with other RCCians, including BIG BOSSES -- not on the same table of course.

Actually I forgot what this dinner is about, I got the email, responded and then I attended. None of my team members are coming, so I joined other team members which anyhow... I felt a bit weird.

The good thing is, for my experience in socializing all these years, I managed to make myself more comfortable in such environment with all the people that I don't really know. Although I'm still not socialized enough, my bottomline is trying not to make myself an idiot, then it's enough. People like me are hard to find buddies in working place, even if you found one, the person will leave or change in the future, so at the end you still need to be alone.

BBQ BEEF RIBS, my dinner. wow... but after that I'm so full until cannot sleep.... ><

This is one of the "must order" food in this restaurant: BOTTOMLESS TOSTADA CHIPS

Hokkaido Ichiba, The Gardens

I used to joining the school brass band (known as "symphonic band" now) when I was in secondary school. I was a trumpter and French Horn player. Anyhow, it's been more than 10 years since they had graduated and I had not been seeing all these seniors.

It's just happened that after we have Facebook, everybody are like being connected again. I've missed the first gathering with the seniors, and now where I am for the second time.

The place, is a Japanese restaurant in The Gardens Mid Valley -- Hokkaido Ichiba (北海道市場). The deco is really alike with Rakuzen, I was told that it's under the same group of Sushi Zanmai and Pasta Zanmai.

Attendees: Alicia(惠芳), Casendra(蕙君), Keng Woon(景文), William(继毅), Amos(坤洺)& his son and me.
