Shila Amzah: An amazing voice
There are lots of shares in my FB walls everyday, including this. I couldn't remember her name at the beginning, although I actually watched a bit of the "One in a Million" singing competition TV show 4 years ago.
Then, I saw her name as "Shila", familiar. And then she is with her tudung now, then it attracted me. When I clicked into the link and watched the video, I was really impressed.
I can't say I'm blown away as exaggerated as the judges. She doesn't shock the audience with her high pitch or tone, but the quality and purity of her voice. She did it steadily in a stable tone that is the thing that impressed me. Like some of the judges said, she doesn't understand the lyrics but she could still express the feeling of the songs.
Maybe the reaction from the judges were a bit over and too much in the show, but I do agree that, she has connection with the audience, and sing into our hearts. She is not there to show off her skills, but to deliver the message and emotion of the songs. And about the judges, I can recognize those from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and they are all famous singers in Asia so I don't doubt of their qualification of being the judges, btw I like some of their songs too.
However, due to the fact of her background, I really worry that she might not be able to go too much further. Exposure and performance like this has somehow against her religion. Anyhow, as a Malaysian, I'm proud for her to win the competition, to let the people in China, even Asian countries to learn that Malaysia has such a wonderful singer who can sing very well even in the language that she doesn't understand.
Great Job, Shila! And I wish to see you more in the future.

Fringe 3 is here!!
Here is another season of "Fringe".
I was fascinated by this series when my friend first recommended it to me. The story itself is about mistery, science, fantasy and imagination. Previously, Olivia from the 2 different universe has switched and now the one in the "alternate" world had been somekind of "brain-washed", her memory has been replaced by the memory of "alternate Olivia".
It's only the first episode. The insteresting part is, the Olivia "here" only has her own memory, but also John Scott, and now inputted with "alternate" Olivia's memory. I think she might collapse one day. And I believe Henry the driver will help her to get back her own memory. And the "alternate" Olivia, although she has entered into another universe, but she doesn't have 'her' memory, I'm not sure how she can cover up herself by not exposing her true identify while dealing with Peter and Walter.
Interesting, isn't it? I can't wait to watch the next episode!

True friendship
Yes, it's ANTM again.
I've watched most of them since the first cycle, some of them would leave me with a deep impression but some of them, just so so, a normal entertainment reality show.
But, I like Cycle 11. It's not the latest one, but I just watched it recently.
What I like about this cycle is, I'm truly impressed by some of the characters for these contestants.
First thing, is the true friendship that has been built up between Marjorie and Analeigh. They are both competitors to each other, but on the other hand, they also have a strong relationship. Not many people will make friends in a competition. But they did.
"Ya, it's a competition. But Marjorie is my friend." Her words really touched me.
Who in this world, you can have a best friend like this?

ANTM Cycle 11
I'm always the fan of America's Next Top Model, who doesn't like to see a bunch of pretty girls on the screen anyway? We can also learn about the modelling world, and beauty tips, even the modelling tips and photographing skills. It's many people's interest actually.
I just watched the Cycle 11, from youtube actually. If you asked for my preference, I would say I prefer Marjorie, the awkward French girl, whose signature pose is Hunchback. She got the awkward look in person, but looks gorgeous in pictures.

I was quite astonished by this photo, although she didn't win the title, she's still got the quality to become a top model.

The Apprentice Season 6
The finale of The Apprentice Season 6, which was in 2005 has been shown on last Sunday night. Or to be exact, it was Monday morning. I don't know why the station wanted to put the show at this dead of night (12:30am) (or morning?), maybe the audience rating for the previous show wasn't very good, that's why they decided to put it at midnight? or it's because they targetted on the audience that mostly cannot sleep at night?
It's the most recent episode of the show broadcasted in Malaysia so far, although it was 2 years ago. What so impressive about this episode is, a Korean-American James Sun, made it up to the final 2. The previous winner, was a British, now a Korean native. It really proved that Donald Trump really had the quality to accept different kind of people -- ability does matter, regardless of where they were from.
However, I do prefer Stefani than James. Trump has made his best decision.

"Gloomy" Globe Awards
Without all the celebrities' attendance, some award shows which was held this year has been affected by the the Writers Guild of America strike. The Golden Globe Awards is the first 'victim', it end up become the "gloomy" awards, the show has to be scaled-down as a press conference.
I don't know what's the intention of this strike, are they really being treated unfairly during these years, but what they did has caused millions of lost in the business. Is that what they wanna see? Who is going to pay for the lost?
For some winners, this might be their first GG awards, this might be their first chance to stand on the stage, sending their gratefulness for their supporters and the people who deserved to get the honours and compliments. Now all fell through because of this crazy strike. All the contribution from the production team and the crew is not honoured in the public.
Anyway, I would like to congratulate Johnny Depp for getting the Best Actor award. He's always one of my favourite actors. His performance in Pirates of the Carribean series and Sweeney Todd is just really amazing.
Hopefully these people can settle everything down before the Academy Awards become the next victim, it should not involve those innocent people who really pay their best effort to contribute to the business.
