Memory Lost

They were talking about the funny thing about the lecturer, tutor, in the class...... but none of them could recall my memory. It seems that I've never been in there before.

It's quite scary because for those they would keep it in their memory, had lost in mine. I can't remember who is Sun Teck Heng, I can't remember when Matthew was trying to solve a math and stopped in the middle like machine hanged (this is how they described it... :P), I can't remember who was the 'expert' who went down to help the lecturer to solve the math question...... I can't remember anything at all, although I've tried to dig it out from my memory. I guess it's not even in my recycle bin......

Either it's not memorable enough for me to keep it, or I really have memory lost problem. I wish I could remember all these funny and precious moment so that when they are talking about it again, I can be involved too. Now I just feel like I'm listening to 'their' story and not mine...

It's quite sad.

Dinner @ Chili's

I was having a dinner at 1U Chili's together with other RCCians, including BIG BOSSES -- not on the same table of course.

Actually I forgot what this dinner is about, I got the email, responded and then I attended. None of my team members are coming, so I joined other team members which anyhow... I felt a bit weird.

The good thing is, for my experience in socializing all these years, I managed to make myself more comfortable in such environment with all the people that I don't really know. Although I'm still not socialized enough, my bottomline is trying not to make myself an idiot, then it's enough. People like me are hard to find buddies in working place, even if you found one, the person will leave or change in the future, so at the end you still need to be alone.

BBQ BEEF RIBS, my dinner. wow... but after that I'm so full until cannot sleep.... ><

Crazy

They definitely had made a record in our team, for a superior to contact our end users directly, moreover the "user" actually is a SME who has been working in this team longer than anyone of us in here.

She felt so weird when she was contacted via ST by manager. It's the first time ever our manager contact her, just to ask her to send us a "feedback". This "feedback", of course is positive which we will get compliment on that.

The manazer said it's not against any rules. Of course it doesn't, I don't know if there is such rule exists, but I just need a respect. It doesn't mean that you can change anything and do anything you want. I just truly truly WISH that she will bound to the mighty Bruce H one day and see how BH will react. She just not really understand the situation here.

The other reason why I think it's inappropriate is, I don't think that person really deserve the "compliment" because she doesn't really work that well. She will work > 12 hours and did < 10 emails, sometimes even lesser. If there's one day we would have > 20 incoming cases per day, will she work 24 hours then?

Everything is getting crazy~!! I think I'm gonna be crazy too.

Money Money Money

Seriously, I really found that it's very difficult for me to even save a penny nowadays. Especially during the second half of the year, money are like leaking out from my pocket, no matter how much I wish to keep them. It becomes more difficult after I start driving, all the petrol, maintenance, loan...... and I still need to spend on my regular expenses.

I admit that my money is not always spent on the right place, I used it on some unnecessary and ‘luxury’ stuffs too. Now I’m thinking, instead of just trying so hard on how to save it, maybe I need to find some other way to earn money. Blogging won’t be enough for me, I might need to think of buy gold bullion to increase my income.

SJ

SJ is for Super Junior. It's the biggest and most famous boy (maybe "man") group in South Korea.

I have heard this name since long ago but never really wanted to follow them, until last 2 weeks I watched a music video shared by my brother for SJ-M's Super Girl. The lyrics itself doesn't really special, but the rhythm and most attractive is the choreography. A very impressive thing of Korean dance is their dancing moves need a lot of coordination. And then the other thing is, easy to learn, like the songs from SJ, Wonder Girls (Nobody) and Girl's Generation (Gee), etc.

Actually they have another song is more famous: Sorry Sorry. This song has been on the top of the charts since it's released in March 2009. Almost the whole Asia, even worldwide has learned this song and the boy group after that. Many people from different countries are copying their dance moves, even the famous Philippines Prisoner are using their songs (link)... but of course not all the moves, only the chorus part.

I won't follow them like what little girls do, but I'll look for their songs, their videos and related news. Then I found out they have one and only Chinese member, Han Geng and he has already left the team since Dec 2009. He's having his own debut this year, but I still hope that these 13 guys will join together one day.......

Funny thing about Chrome

Yesterday, my colleague showed me something very funny about Chrome, maybe many users have already known it, but it's still new to me.

It's about "incognito window", we can choose it from the control icon dropdown menu.

This is a function of Chrome that it won't save all your browsing or download history. When you open a new incognito window, you will see some message explaining about this mode, the last 2 sentences are very funny.... :D

Keep yourself beautiful

Recently there are many beauty shops opened in town, they announced themselves are from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc. But what we can’t deny is that, Japan and Korean are really good and professional in their beauty business and work. You can see those artists always show themselves beautifully on screen. One thing I notice for the Japanese and Korean colleagues in my office, they have a habit to brush teeth after meal, no matter guys or girls. And I believe that they will have good habits on facial, hair and body care as well. And maybe if I can join the beauty school in Phoenix I will be able to learn how to make myself beautiful too.

It's getting harder

It's just less than 2 months to go, and I'll be moving on to another role.

Things are not settled in here yet, the more requests are coming from our business side and users. Education, I really have no idea how to do it, I'm not good in it.

There is not easy to find somebody who has the ability and willing to grow, most of the time it's just depends on your luck, or... of course, maybe your skill on how to train up somebody.

These education, KB cleanup thing are making me headache. Although there is a path here, my future is still unknown. Nobody knows what would happen in there, and how I can adapt a totally new working style.

I just hope that, the last month here for me will be a peaceful and happy month.

Back to the beginning

People come, people go.
Things changed before you are aware of it.
When there is no sign of change, and you won't be able to track back how it's changed.
What you can do is keep on moving forward.
There is nothing you can do to turn back time, or even find out what had happened.
Maybe there are something we shouldn't do or say,
but... who would predict what would happen?
Maybe there are more than one cause, however it's not what I'm concerning.
Don't worry, I'm fine.
It's just back to the old times, I just need some time to get used to it again.

Work Ethics

Recently you can find in the newspapers, there are many medical lawsuits and many of them are caused by human negligence. It was just happened that I read a case from the web about the Depuy recall, 93,000 hip replacement systems are recalled because of the pain and swelling after surgery. It is quite scary when you heard such news, financial lost may severe but still can be recovered, but if it’s related to human body or health, some damage or aftereffect could be permanent that cannot be cured. It’s very crucial for those people who deal with human body, to be truly careful when they are giving treatment or prescription to their patients or test subjects. Sometimes if any serious damage had been caused, there is no chance to recover. So it’s also very important for these people to work with their professional ethics, think of the people they love and love them, save them instead of hurting them.

Visit Singapore - Day 3: Going home

Actually, even if we have to go home today, supposed we still have time to travel around. However, my dad said we better find our departure station earlier to avoid missing the bus. So the only place we visited is a part of the Balestier Road.

We went to a market nearby to have our breakfast. The culture here is quite different from Malaysia, the food stalls are self service, and the price of the food and drinks here are slightly cheaper than ours.

You couldn't see many places like this in town from our country, but there are many in here. It's hard for me to put into words, just feel...... difference.

I like this country, but I would prefer to stay in my own place. Nothing special, just it would make me feel more like home.

Visit Singapore - Day 2: Travel around the island

On the second day in Singapore, we actually started up quite late (around 10am). Straightaway we took a bus to Harbour Front MRT station, had a simple breakfast, then traveled to Sentosa island by bus.

The very last time I went to Sentosa was a few years ago, when Pey Ching and I were attending Wendy's wedding. Many friends were being our tourguide, bringing us around. If you asked me, I have already forgetten the way.

However, the best part is, as long as you know where you want to go, you won't get lost in Singapore. You can ask anyone anywhere for the way, and finally we (actually "I") decided to travel by bus. Last time, I even forgot how did we get there.

We arrived at the Beach station, and then took a tram to Tanjong Beach and Palawan Beach, after that took a monorail to the Waterfront station and hanging around. You can visit the casino and Universal Studios from here. We didn't enter the US because it costs SGD$72 per ticket! So we just walked around, took pictures and traveled back to the other side and continue our journey to Chinatown, Merlion Park and Orchard.

Sentosa - Singapore

This day we walked a lot, from City Hall station, to Explanade, Raffles City Shopping Centre, stopped by Merlion Park, then continue to the Raffles Place station, heading towards Orchard. I actually walked until my feet feel pain.

The Marina Bay Sands, a very spectacular building in Singapore.

Christmas dream

When I travel to Singapore, I’m aware that Christmas is around the corner. Just less than 2 months to go, we are going to celebrate the greatest holiday of the year. I’m not a Christian but I like Christmas. Christmas is not only about the Christmas trees, expensive decorations, getting gold coin as Christmas present, shopping malls and great meals. It’s about appreciation, appreciate for the time you have with your loved ones, appreciate for all the precious moments you have with your friends and family, and appreciate for everything you have. So the best moment in my mind on Christmas day is having the whole family sitting together in front of a fireplace, with grandma on a rocking chair, telling old time stories… what a great scene!

Best public transportation

When I travel in Singapore, another thing that has impressed me is their complete network and good service for public transportation. You can get connections everywhere, by bus, train (MRT & LRT), or even taxi with low fares.

You just need to buy an ezlink card, you can travel anywhere by touch-and-go. Each bus and train station has a number and the station name, on the bus you can get all the route guide and the schedule. As long as you can read English, you won't get yourself lost on the way in Singapore. This time when I travel, I actually didn't plan my trip before. You can ask any officer or staff in anywhere for the way as long as you know where you want to go. And this kind of service is really not Malaysia can compare.

Another best thing is, the passengers will really give up their seats to the elderies and those in need. I witness it when I traveled together with my parents. My dad actually felt awkward when somebody gave up their seats to him. See, who said Singaporeans are cold and uncourteous?

Cheap phones in SG

Many people had been amazed by the low price of mobile phones in Singapore, you can get $0 for a mobile phone if you signed up a plan with contract. In many years ago, when we didn't need to sign up any plan to buy a phone, many people like to get some gadgets from Singapore, especially Malaysians. But now, as the currency for SGD is getting higher and higher, buying SG gadgets with Malaysia Ringgits is no longer worth it.

Moreover, as I was told, the call plan in SG is not really cheap also as it charges both caller and receiver. I haven't really made any research on the phone and call package in SG, but I was also surprised that actually cheap mobile phones are sold in convenient stores like 7-11, without any contract. You can get one by paying less than $100, isn't it great?

Visit Singapore - Day 1: Visit friends/relatives

After planning for more than half a year, I stepped in to Singapore on 5 November. This time, I went together with my parents. One of the purpose is to visit my best friend, my ‘kei lui’ Talisa and my aunt whom staying in Fajar Rd.

And this is the first time ever, we were left in the Singapore custom by the bus company. It’s quite a scary experience, I have been traveling to Singapore by bus for at least 3 times before and never had any bus driver had left me in the custom. Luckily got one guy who was on the same bus with us recognized us and told us that the driver asked him to take another bus to Singapore. I admit that we were late because of filling the form, but still you need to let us know how long you will wait and after how many minutes you will leave, at least we know. Next time, I would consider not to take the Konsortium bus anymore.

As we were taking another bus, so the destination also not the same. Luckily from the place where we were dropped off is just a few minutes away from the hotel by taxi. By 3pm, we managed to check in and started our journey.

First destination, is my best friend's house at Woodlands. We took bus and MRT there, and finally I could see my 'kei lui' for the very first time since she was born. She and both her parents had quite a hard time when she was born, as she gotta take operation on the second day of birth. But she is living healthily and happily now with a lot of love.

For my aunt and uncle, they are good and living with their sons together. Actually their body condition is not really that good, they cannot travel a lot and for long time so they seldom go anywhere nowadays. If they could own at least a bullion they maybe can have a better and easier live. We had a great time chatting with them before we returned back to the hotel.

See, she is Talisa (Suan Suan), my 'kei lui'. So energetic and active.

The hotel we stayed. It's a budget hotel located at Balestier Rd. Actually there are at least 5 budget hotels along the street.

Lilian's Wedding

It's been more than a year since she had left, what so precious is, we still keep in touch, although we don't see each other so frequent, at least, we never forget.

This is the first time ever, I attended the full vegetarian wedding dinner. They are not really vegetarian, but they couldn't find other restaurant, so they picked here. But still, the food is nice, I like their decoration the most, it's quite glamourous.

She had been the most naive and innocent girl among us, and we are so happy to see her starting another journey of her life from now on. Wish for her happiness and 幸福 ever after.

By the way, I don't really feel good about the arrangement, I thought it would be some sort of "gathering" for the 'old buddies'. Yes, all the "ex" lunch buddies are staying together, but those others we know, are so far away from us.

My 'kei lui' and me

"Kei Lui" means goddaughter in Cantonese. She is my BEST friend's daughter and of course, I have ot be her 'Kei Ma'... hehehe

Actually this is the first time I met her since she was born. Her birth had made my friend so worried about her because she had been staying in the hospital for quite some time. Anyhow, we are so happy to see her being so healthy (and naughty :P) now.

She likes to be carried all the time, so you see she is so enjoyed...

My wish, my gadgets

I have been wishing to get two new gadgets by this year: one new mobile phone and digital camera. But until now, I still haven’t got any of them yet. One of the reasons is, I’m asking for my brother’s advice to choose the best and most suitable one for me, but he has been choosing too long until cannot make any decision for me yet. Another reason, of course is the budget issue.

I have been buying low price phones all the while, and most of them ended up either being stolen, snatched or lost. Now, I want to buy a good one, a really good one. If I could earn money by investing in gold bullion, maybe I could get all these, and whichever I wish for.

Great time with old friend

It's been more than 10 years since the last time we met. She is now a mother of 2 little kiddos, and I... nothing really changed except the wrinkles on my face. (sad)

We had lunch at Desa Park City, it was quite an 'adventure' for me because it's my first time driving to Kepong, alone. I was so afraid I would lose my way, actually I did, but luckily I could reach the destination at last.

I gotta see both of her son & daughter, they can speak better than my nephew does, and so adorable. I know that it's not easy to raise up a child nowadays, moreover she got 2. But I believe that she are also enjoying the fun and laughter within, it's not what money can buy.

Therefore, some of our topics were about kids. I can tell that, while she is saying how difficult it is to take care of her family, I still see the glory of a mother and wife with a lot of love from her.

I believe that everybody have their own destiny. All we have to do is enjoying our lives and precious every moment and everybody that we have.
