BookFest @ Malaysia 2009

BookFest @ Malaysia 2009

I went to the Book fair on last Saturday. Alone.

I'm not quite a 'reader' recent years, maybe too addicted to computer and internet, maybe not enough sleep due to spend too much time online, and I don't have much energy on reading. I bought a lot of books at home, but never really finish even half of them.

My hands felt "itchy" again when I saw so many books BOOKS and BOOKS in the book fest. But "luckily" I only brought back 6 books home. One of them is even English bestbeller... hehehehe you can imagine I read English book? (I still leave my English version of "Angels & Demons" at home, just for the reference to my Chinese version... geng leh?)

If not mistaken, this is the author for the comic 黑色水母 (dark jellyfish), but actually I don't really like his comics.

My life as a blogger

I have been a blogger for more than 4 years. At the beginning it's just my diary, I wrote it mainly in Chinese. Then my friend introduced me to join as the paid blogger, until I opened an English blog.....after that another website for my Chinese blog......

I actually don't earn a lot from blogging, but the best thing I got, is I my English has improved a lot when I blog in English. Of course you can say my English is still lousy, but if you compared to my English writing in 10 years back, you will understand the difference.

Have you ever see any blogger checking dictionary when they blog? I do. My vocabulary is really limited, and when I read my friend's blog, I also need to check dictionary. Cannot compare, they are far more better than I am.

Anyhow, it's how I learn my language. And paid post is one of my motivation of keep on blogging. Hopefully I can have much more improvement in the future.

Accounting firm

More than half a year has passed in 2009, but the economy has not been getting better. However, there are still many people out there, quitting their jobs and starting their own business.

When you start a new business, of course the first thing which comes into your mind is money. Some people will hire accounting staffs to handle all the company’s money matters, but there are still many of them would rather leave it to the professionals. If you can find those like Las Vegas Quickbooks Accounting Firm, I’m sure you will trust them and let them handle your money.

Sky...

This is the first time I visited to Grandma's house again since she passed away last year.

Life goes on. Many things remain the same. All the people around are still having their normal days. The house is still lively with some of my cousins around. The only one missing, is my Grandma, she's no longer here.

There's a Chinese festival in this month, the temple in front of my Grandma's house was lively again. A Cantonese opera show on stage, and luncheon on Sunday.

We went back with our new Pesona. On the way back to KL, I saw the sky, it's very bright and blue. We can seldom see such blue sky in the town, probably because of pollution. So many feeling and emotion came together into my mind, but I still enjoy seeing the nature and it blew away all the sadness and worries from your heart.

15 Malaysia: House

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xSHYP724Ok

This video is quite sad but it do tell the true story. The same thing happens to many people especially to the poors every now and then.

For those who live in a bungalow or even a better house than Rama, for those who never suffer from poverty, they won't imagine how a small house can be so important to somebody like Rama and his mother. When he says, "My father built it..." you can tell how this matter to him. He loves the house just for this simple reason.

Keep yourself beautiful

You may know that, it is very important to keep yourself in good health and good looking. Nowadays many commercials have told you how you can keep yourself in looking younger and healthier, but the most important thing is, you have to know the right way so that you won’t hurt yourself or consequently any side effect happens to you.

Sometimes you may not really trust the products and their advertisements in the market, it is better if you have more knowledge on it, at least you can choose the best for yourself. That is why some will consider joining the beauty school houston to learn how to make yourself beautiful and healthy.

Missing futsal 2009

We didn't join the futsal tournament this year.

One reason is because we were just having a big turnover in our team, the 2 most important players had left, another one is still suffering from her backpain, and me, just the 'keh leh feh' in this team, if others cannot form a team, I also wouldn't join.

I prefer playing ball with my hands than legs actually, but the more important thing is about the team. We can enjoy the team playing in the field, chasing after the ball (me), knowing new friends, sharing and laughing. It was really a good time for us. However, we are now even no longer having our weekly futsal hour, no more invitation. I think the team has dismissed.

It's quite sad actually, how I wish we could have fun together again, but I don't think we can return back to the old times anymore. But it's still great that it can be kept in my memory. I was once a futsal player, and won a silver metal in the company tournament. How great is it, huh? hahah!

From Putra Jaya to KL -> RM7?!

They got on the bus from Putra Jaya mosque. They are like from Middle East, English speaking are not really fluent, but still able to ask for the fare to KL.

"One person 7 Ringgit."

They were like doubt that they had heard it wrongly, and asked him to repeat again.

"One person, 7 Ringgit!" The conductor said. Word by word. Showed a little bit impatience.

There are, I think around 5 to 7 of them. If they paid the full amount, it costed them about RM70 for this trip.

I sat nearby. Silently. Still holding my RM2 ticket.

That's why, I always tell my foreign friends, don't come here alone or by your own. If you cannot find any local, just make sure you do all the research before you come. Otherwise, you might spend at least RM20 from KLCC to Bukit Bintang by taxi.

With this kind of fellas around, how are we going to improve our reputation? How can we convince people to "visit Malaysia"?

His Lunar Birthday - 2 yrs old

As we have missed his 2nd birthday on 1st Aug, we were then celebrating his Lunar birthday yesterday. Actually not a really big celebration, just my mum cooked some different food, and bought a birthday cake for him. The cake is for the adults' favour, so I chose black forest... haha!

I'm not sure if it's really not a cake for kids or what, my nephew really doesn't like to eat cake. Even if we put it into his mouth, he spat it out.

Since he has just recovered from a big fever, we were making a birthday wish for him, wishing for his health and happiness throughout his life.

Invest in silver

Many people like to invest in gold, but the thing is, the price of gold is now getting higher and some may find it is not really easy to store gold. Nowadays some will choose to invest in silver.

The price for silver is very much lower than gold, but at the same time, it also means that the amount that you need to do the investment is also not as high as gold. Furthermore, the major advantage for silver is the industrial demand for silver is much higher than gold. If you would consider taking part in investment, you may consider silver.

The panicky flu

This flu thing which was called 'swine flu' before and now it's renamed as "Influenza A (H1N1)" has now taken 18 lives. It's scary but I believe that there are many people don't care about it. Actually, you don't really need to be panic about it.

I was walking around the Bukit Bintang area today, passing through all the crowds, but only a few of them were wearing masks. Masks are still available, not out of stock yet. They are still cheap, price are not raised yet. But now, for me, I'm more sensitive to the coughs and sneezes, especially when you can tell from their coughs that, they are having serious problem.

The fatalities are still low, of course it doesn't mean that you do not regard it as a matter. You still need to be careful, if you cannot avoid going out, just make sure you take good care of yourself.

Baby is home

Our little baby, finally come home. Healthily. Recovered.

I just found that, one of my friend's baby son, also had a fever on the same day, and caused by throat infection. Recently there are many viruses around, and the H1N1 still causing a great panic around the world by increasing the dead cases, including Malaysia. Nowadays going out also not safe.

My brother-in-law told us, according to the doctor, they still keep the baby's blood in observation. Probably need to wait until some bacterias or viruses 'grow', then only they can do further testing and checking, to see if there is any other 'problem' inside. It's just a in-depth checking, hopefully they won't find anything there.

It might be so bad that he had to spend his birthday in hospital, but what else is more important than his health and happiness? Birthday celebration, it doesn't matter anymore.

Welcome Back, Boy!

Little boy boy @ hospital

My nephew has been admitted to hospital since last Friday, because of his high fever. That means, he spent his second birthday in the hospital too. What a pity!

The blood test report was out, it shows nothing really bad about him. So according to tentative diagnosis, they can only tell that it's because of his sore throat which caused the high fever. But they still need a few more days to do monitoring and more testing for confirmation.

Because of being sick, Boy Boy is quite lack of appetite. So they decided to give him a drip. But it is so cruel to see 2 needles stuck into his little hand. He cries everytime when the nurses come and change the packet, or inject some medicine from the needle. He is so terrified.

It's been 4th day, but our little boy still can't be discharged yet. He doesn't have high fever again today, but the doctor still wants to get more detailed checking before can confirmed he is fully recovered.

That means, my mum still need to stay overnight in the hospital with my sis. And I still need to wash clothes every night, and sleep late every night......

See his hand.... it's scary!

Happy Birthday, Boy Boy!

Today is Boy Boy’s birthday.

But he spent his very first moment of his birthday in the hospital.

He has been having a high fever since the night before yesterday, my parents and his parents brought him to the pediatrics. After giving him some medicines, the doc advised them to bring him to the hospital for detailed body check-up, to be more secure. So they were heading towards the UM hospital.

When he was in the hospital wad in the afternoon, around 2pm, his body was still in high temperature, until he got a cramp. It's sound scary to me. Then after that, it's getting better. He could eat, drink and play with them. But in around midnight, his temperature was going up again, even doc said it's normal, we are still scared.

Docs had done a blood test with him, but neither mum nor sis mentioned about the report, which it was supposed to be out in 3 hours. They were even told that the doc needed to take his marrow for testing as they had concern that it might be a meningitis. It sounds terrifying but luckily after I checked with my mum, they didn't do it.

Now is the very crtical moment for the little one, the doc has told them to keep his temperature low. My mum and sis are now staying overnight in the hospital, and taking care of him.

I'm so scared actually. We never encounter this before, we know he's a premie, but never be prepared to face this. We have been trying to hard to take extra care of him, hope that he can grow healthy and happily. Now, it has panicked us. We are scared. Really really scared.

For any God up there, please bless the little boy. I would prayed for his health, his recovery and we are still waiting to celebrate his second birthday at home.

Happy Birthday, Boy Boy! Please be strong! You will be recovered soon.
