Slow... Slow... Slow...

Do you believe that, in such a big international company, most of the applications they use is SLOW?

I really don't know how to support in such a 'speed', especially when you are on the phone with users, can you imagine that you have to keep apologizing to users and telling them, "I'm sorry, would you please hold on a second, our system is quite slow now..."

It might depends on network performance for each location, I admit that our country's network speed is generally slower than other countries, even Singapore, but you can't develop an application and expect it's used in all high-speed network platforms.

So, since I can't do anything to speed up the thing, the only thing I can say to our users, is "Sorry, please wait for a moment, our system is very slow..."

New Restaurant

I didn't notice when did it open. After Old Town and Paddi House, there is any new restaurant here, called "The Walk", they got pizzas, roasted chicken and Japanese food.

I haven't been there before, and I don't think I can spend less than one hour there during my lunch time. You know preparing the food also take some time, I think.

Sick...

I've been holding myself for more than half a year, I thought I could make it, become the ZERO MC 'good employee' in the company. But after staying up late for so many nights, and some 'side effects' of durians maybe, I fell sick at last.

Fever, sore throat, cough, cold...... all come together. I thought I can stay working in the office like what I used to do last time, but actually I'm not really that strong. I felt very dizzy in the office, even couldn't really concentrate in the conference (luckily I don't need to say anything, just listen). Finally, I decided to leave the office, spent > 2 hours to reach home, eat and sleep.

I strongly believe that the medicine given by the panel is not working, otherwise how come I'm still feeling very sick right now? I really don't believe that doctor because of my bad experience, but this is the nearest panel in my area, what to do?

Hot drums, hot music

I have been a brass band member during in secondary school. When I first joined, actually I wished I could be assigned to the percussion team, because I like rhythmic music. And I believed that playing music with your hands is much easier than with your mouth.

Although I became a trumpeter at last, sometimes I still like to play drums with my other members, learning to play their pieces, and even after so many years, I can still remember the beat. If I had a chance to become a drummer, I would like to learn to play different types of drums, for example djembe drums. This famous African instrument is very popular in music and it’s been used in so many pop songs and even traditional music. And once you play it, you will also like it very much.

Happy 1 Year Old~~!!!

It's happy to announce that, my little baby nephew has turned 1 officially on Aug 1 2008.

As we have celebrated his birthday on his lunar birthday last 2 weeks, there wasn't any big celebration in his 1-year-old day. Even his mum (my sis) didn't take much time with him because she just came in the evening. The only "big thing" we've done was just taking him to Jusco, and bought him some new clothes as a birthday present.

I'm so glad that this little fella has brightened our days although sometimes he's a bit cranky. As usual, I wish for his health and happiness throughout his life, and also to my mum.
