Back to my 4-wheels

Starting from this week, finally I can get rid of the 6-wheels and back to the 4-wheels now. But since this is the last week of the month, I have to put my 4-wheels under the sun in more than 200M away from my office until next month, and pay ~RM4 everyday.

This time, the 4-wheels that passed by my bro is already more than 15 years old. You can hear there are many 'sounds' coming out from its body. Bro just got it painted again, so although it's a bit noisy, at least it still looks nice and.... it really has a strong 'heart' (engine). I should be grateful that my bro did maintain it very well.

The first day I brought it to work, I really felt like taming a wild horse. =.=" I know I need more time to build a 'good relationship' with this fella... haha! Because I believe that we will be together for a couple of years.

Practice makes perfect, isn't it?

Moved workstation again

I can't really remember how many times we have moved. From Old building to new building, from phase 1, phase 2 to phase 3 until east wing, west wing and now the 'aquarium', we never have a fixed location.

This time, we have moved into a glass room which needs ID card to enter, that's why we call this place 'aquarium', people can only see us from the glass. It is smaller so more echoes inside. If somebody shout, sure he or she will disturb the others. Unfortunately, we have so many 'loud speakers' here. >.<"

After the GDF thing, we are in Pool 3 which is categorized by language-specific teams. So you will listen to Japanese, Korean and Mandarin all the time. It's quite interesting to have so many different languages speaking in just a tiny room like this.

I still need some time to be get used to here. But still, life is busy, we don't have time for our new environment, because we need to start our work now!

G-Force, a good movie for child

Photobucket

To be frank, this is not a movie for adult. But no doubt, it's cute, really cute. Despite the poor story line, actually this is quite a nice movie. Talking animals, special effects, special agent, plot to destroy the world (or human beings), science+technology, cute characters...... what else do you expect?

I never thought that a mole will plan to destroy the human, actually when I knew the 'truth', it's quite funny to me too. Anyhow, they really surprised me that, the mole actually use the Chinese word for "mole" -- 鼹鼠(yǎn shǔ)as his anonym, although for me, it implicitly insulted the Chinese in certain aspect.

The other surprise is, we can listen to lots of current English hits like Lady Gaga's Just Dance, Black Eyed Peas's Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling, etc. It's really nice to hear the songs playing in the movie.

Generally, this is the movie that will definitely entertain the children or audience at young age but not the adults like me. This is a movie that will not make you think, actually, you don't need to think.

Anyhow, I still think that these guinea pigs are cute~~ hehe

Platinum coins

My sister used to collect coins but it was just a short while. She is kind of person with brief period of enthusiasm and then just not long later, she quitted. Actually, if you are really interested in collecting coins or investing in coins, we would suggest you to buy platinum coins. No doubt that the price of platinum is higher than gold, however, since it is rare metal, it is widely used in the industry. And because of its rareness, it also means that you can get higher in return. Not everyone are fond of gold, so you may prefer platinum for yourself.

Happy Deepavali

I saw this when I was in Pavillion, one afternoon. This is called "Kolam", it's kind of sandpainting which is drawn using the rice powder dyed in different colours, special for the Hindu's culture.

We are glad that we are multi-racial country, we celebrates Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, and all other special days for different festivals. I like telling stories about our tradition and culture, it's just if we don't learn our culture, how are we going to show others what our culture is?

My office also had a "Kolam" competition, and the winner's artwork is still displayed in the entrance of the office. It's really beautiful, it's an art, a culture, and something that we should precious and proud of.

A dinner

We had a farewell+welcome dinner yesterday, I'm the so called 'organizer', but actually what I did was just gathering information and sending out emails, that's all.

And actually I failed to gather everyone together, although I believe that it's impossible to get 100% attendance, but... those who are supposed to be in the farewell came, but those who should be welcomed, were not in.

I really felt sorry about S & A, esp. S. This dinner, was meant to be the people who left our team together with those who join us. But now, we have to leave them out just because it's too late and we have already finished our food. And the main reason is, he is scheduled to take the night shift for this week. It's not his fault, but just... not in the right time. I felt a little bit guilty also when I called him up and told him that we all wanted to go home......

Next time? who can guarantee when we will have our 'next time'? Now things changed. We are no longer the same as before. Not so much passion on team building and outing, and basically because we have lost our 'organizers'.

Anyhow, thanks for those who joined and we actually had a lot of fun together on a table, and.... gossiping... hahaha

I need a break

I have just applied a long leave in December. I told my teammates that I may go to Singapore to visit my friend, but actually I don't have any plan yet.

It's been quite long since my last vacation, long enough until I forget when was it. I always wish that I can have a family vacation, travel overseas. But because of so many other reasons, we have to postpone our plan to an unknown date.

Anyhow, I have already applied my leave. No matter what will happen, I will be totally 'missing' from my office and work. I need a break and rest so that I can keep it up for a longer journey.

A call today

B walked away, forgot to put in aux code.
Call came in, without any other choice, I asked A to take the call.
From the receiver, I could hear that the caller actually is impatient and irritated after trying for so many times but still couldn't get the thing installed.
Actually I didn't have much expectation on A, I'm sure the caller was not happy, because he even asked, "What are you going to send me?"

Caller called again, this time C took it. He asked me why A closed the call so fast without confirmation from user that the problem is resolved. While C was chatting with me on ST, he found that the caller had disconnected.

I was worried. I decided to call back the BP user by myself, I was so worried that he would lose his temper this time.

But surprisingly, he answered the call with a very nice voice. Eventhough the problem actually persisted. I guided him, patiently, tried to be as nice as I could, to follow the steps and instructions. He realized that he had missed out one step, and agreed to try it again. He told us that we can close the call, if he found the problem again he will call us back.

He sounds so grateful and said thank you for so many times. After the call finished, I felt relief, and warm. I was so happy that he was not angry with us, and the call ended with a very happy tone.

I realized that, I would prefer to become a normal agent, solving caller's problem and answering caller's questions directly. Especially when getting their positive feedback and response, when they sound happy after the problem resolved or they got their answers. And also, the happiest moment is, when some regular users call and tell me that they are so happy to hear my voice.

It's a sense of satisfaction that you can get directly from the end users. It's nothing you can get if you are doing normal administrative works. I know that it sounds conflict with the new role that I'm currently taking, but that is where my job satisfaction comes from.

I still can tell everyone that, "I'm the Agent of the Year 2008! (2nd runner-up.... haha!)"

I think I found I'm so happy to work in the customer service field. I know that my progression is kind of slow, but everyone's goal are different. Some wants to be a leader, the others happy to be just a team player, I'm one of them.

Hiring 'part-time' to do your farm?

It happened that, a few days ago I read a very funny news. In China, because of the golden week holiday, the people are too busy to take care of their 'farm' -- as one of the online game. They actually hire the 'part-time' to do the 'farming'!

The news didn't specify which online game is it, but it did mention 'happy farm' in Chinese, so I can tell that they must be saying 'Facebook'.

There are many 'farming' games in the Facebook, e.g. happy farm, barn buddy, farm town, farmville, etc. For happy farm and barn buddy, not only you can plant vegetables in your own farm, you can also water the plans, weeding, and killing bugs in your friends' farms.

Can you imagine one of the 'part-timers' from Taiwan, she actually earns NT$800 per day just to help others to work on their farms?

This Facebook really drives people crazy!

Bullion

With signs of economic recession remains in the doldrums, our lives are getting more and more pressure. Savings are no longer the economic support and source for the people. Recently, all kinds of investment-related information constantly emerge. Many investors are attracted by their low-cost and high-return investment plans. But can they really be trusted? For all the high returns that they promised, are they really achievable?

There are many different kinds of investment available in the world, and bullion investment is one of the most popular among them all. It includes the gold, silver, platinum and other precious metals. This, as what many people believe, is a gradually value-added investment and will maintain the value of your precious metals all the time.

When it comes to the types of bullion, the very first thing we can think about, is gold. Since our early generations, many people believe that, buying gold is the best way to preserve their wealth, and it is also a kind of status symbol. Although it might not be as popular as silver and copper, gold has also been widely used in the market trading. It will not wear or fade over time, even if you pass it around from hands to hands. It can readily be brought anywhere, with just one small size of gold it carries a high monetary value. It can be easily stored, transported and exchanged among people.

I must mention that, one of the reasons why people like gold is because of the bright luster from the gold itself. Because of its unique color, gold has been popularly used by the king and emperors in the ancient times, to represent power, authority and wealth.

Besides gold, bullions also include silver, copper and so on. Silver, in terms of its affordability, it is also popular for the bullion coins collectors. Although its value is relatively lower than gold, but it also means that it is cheaper and affordable.

If you likes to collect bullion coins, you can actually find them from many countries, for example U.S. Eagles has American eagle bullion coin and China has panda coins. It depends on which one is your favorite.

Dining at Cyberjaya

It's not easy to find somewhere for dining in Cyberjaya area, of course there are lots of restaurants around, but it won't be economical; Old town, Padi House, QThai, Penang House... if you want to find something lower than RM5, yes you can, at Terminal, but you have to 'fight' with hundreds of diners around. Moreover, the walking distance from my office to Terminal, is 15 mins; Drive? don't even think about it, because there won't be any parking space ready for you.

Food delivery or catering service is really a big business in this area, we used to have chicken rice delivery and mixed rice before, after we moved to new building, I have lost contact with the boss who delivers mixed rices, the guy who sells chicken rice has quitted from delivery service. Then I found another catering service which is vegetarian food.

Last week, I found the 'mixed rice uncle' in the main entrance, I got his contact number and now, at least we can have some meat for lunch. Haha!

Our building already have a vendor, but they sell Indian or Mamak food only. And I can't remember I voted them when we have choice to pick the favourite vendor from 2 candidates.

Now, you can have many choices for your dining in Cyberjaya, but they are still not cheap. If you want to pay less, go for the catering.

Back to bus days

The Wira is currently on maintenance, so I have to go back to the stations and take bus again.

After the bus far rises since September, I actually seldom take bus. One reason is, the bus never comes on time, and even worse than before.

But this week, I could manage to catch the U42 at around 7~7.30pm. Still not really punctual, but better than waiting forever. Anyhow, who can guarantee their service?

Paintball

Many of my friends have played paintball before. From their pictures, I can see that it's really quite a fun game. Our team members had planned to join a paintball game before, but eventually, most of the 'planners' are no longer in the team.

What would it be when holding Smart Parts Paintball Guns and with your suits and masks on, running around the field and fighting with your 'enemies'. I think it sounds like "Counterstrike" where I had played.

I know it's a bit 'old' at my age to play this exciting and tiring game, but one day, I really hope that I could at least try once to participate in this game.

Mid-autumn Festival & my nephew

This year's Mid-autumn fell on Saturday. It should be fun because we didn't have to work on the next day and my sister's family were not 'balik kampung'. But still, because we had late dinner, by the time we started to hang the lantern and lit up some candles, it's already almost midnight.

Boy Boy was so happy running around, playing with the electronic lantern that my sis bought him. Watching me line up the candles in the garden, hung all the lanterns on the clothesline. This is the first time he is with us on this day.

After all these years, we have forgotten the true meaning of the festivals. Besides family reunion, what are the purposes and meaning that we celebrating the festivals, like Mid-autumn? Many friends of mine are no longer playing lanterns and candles in Mid-autumn night, except those have kids. Other than having a family dinner and then back to their own activities, what these Chinese traditional festivals really mean to them?

Fisherman

It is really crazy.
This is the biggest challenge for me in my entire life.
What actually is in his mind?
Does he really care about this job? Does he really think he is responsible on his task?
These "tidak apa" attitude has really challenged our tolerance, patience and wisdom.
The one who can stand until the last minute wins.
But what's the reward?
My mind is getting mad right now in every single day.
Less people, more work, has already made our heads spin.
And now, we have to take care of this fisherman too.
I wonder what we have done to get us into this.

p/s: wanna know why this fella is 'fisherman'? because he always 'fishing' during working hour......

My dream to Disneyland

It has been quite a long time I haven't been traveling. One reason is because of the H1N1 thing, it really scares people out. But you know what, many of my friends are still traveling overseas. Well, they got their point: even if you stay in your house, it doesn't mean that you are 100% safe.

My plan of family trip to Hong Kong is still postponed until a day of unknown, how I wish I could travel to either Hong Kong, Japan or even Orlando, get my Disney Tickets and step in to the Disneyland. I haven't been to Disneyland before, I really wish that I can pay a visit there at least for once in my life. But when will it be?

Tremors in the office

Quake in Sumatra, tremors in Malaysia

It was around 6.30pm, when I felt a bit giddy in the office, I thought it was because I didn't have enough sleep... (ha) until my colleague asked me, "Do you feel the building is like shaking?" Then only I realized, yeah, it's really feel like shaking.

About an hour later, I received my SMS news, there's an earthquake in Sumatra and tremors in Malaysia. It was like a joke at the beginning but when really heard about the news, it's still scary.
